Our Storylavand
Lavand was founded in 2004 by Sheerin Zalani.
The story began with a box of baklavas gifted to her. The flavour and texture were like nothing she had had before, sparking an interest in her to learn more of the history of this buttery flaky confection. She learned that it transcended cultures and spanned hundreds of years served to Sultans & Sultana’s in palaces across the Middle East.
We started with baby steps, importing baklavas from a famous patisserie in Lebanon and offering a relatively unknown dessert to the Malaysian Market at road shows and exhibitions. It was a hit!
And so Lavand Persian for “Desirable” was born.
Over a decade later and Lavand has grown from a modest two table set up to a fully operating Bakery and Confectionery. Our clientele ranges from international corporations to local businesses.
Lavand has since expanded its product range to include Artisanal Chocolate and Confection as well as specialty gifts carefully crafted and hand-picked by our creative team always emphasizing on quality and attention to detail.
Our baklavas are like no other, we have spent years improving and developing our craft and love sharing it with you.
EARLY BEGGINING
In 2003, Lavand Debut Baklava’s for the first time in Malaysia @ BSC. A small tent was set up offering tea and seating. At the time the baklavas were fully imported.
Shop Established
Lavand opened its first retail shop in 2004 in Bangsar Village

Lavand set up its own bakery & began manufacturing baklava locally in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Present Dayslavand
Lavand is a 100% family-owned business home grown with humble beginnings. We started by importing from abroad and have since progressed to manufacturing fully locally.
Our products can be found on the shelves of major retailers, selected supermarkets as well as on our website . We also collaborate with many specialty gift and souvenir companies.
Over the years Lavand’s product range has expanded to include Artisanal Chocolates and Pastries with all research and development done by our in-house team to create unique products.
